Shoefly don't bother me!!!
So we've had a really busy weekend again. It seems that life never slows down at the MacDonald Farm.
Friday night Grandma and Grandpa Chambers took Jaidyn miniature golfing, she had such a great time and even got 2 holes in one. They took lots of pictures, so check out the Chamber's site to see how much fun they had.
Friday night I was googling how to save my playlist. I wanted to burn my playlist to a CD. It's amazing how much information you can find on the computer. I was successful and made a CD with all of my favorite songs. Yeah!!
Saturday morning John and I woke up and decided to start yet another home improvement project. We have had some beadboard in our garage just sitting there waiting to be installed somewhere, and I've been wanting to install some on our kitchen island. A few weeks back I found these great sconces to put in place of the ugly one's currently there. So off to Home Depot we went to get the extras needed to start. Here's what it looks like so far, we've still got quite a bit left to do, install baseboards, caulking and painting, plus install the new sconces. So once that's all done I'll post more pictures, but here's a little preview...

We spent about 4 hours on this, while rocking out to my new CD I made from my playlist on Friday night. Then decided to take a break. Everyone was pretty exhausted from all the work, and I think all the sawdust may have made us all a little loopy and we needed to get some playtime in!

Then little Oni couldn't take anymore and she finally crashed!!!

So we had a larger issue come up, because we were in and out of the kitchen door while cutting wood, measuring etc..we ended up with flies! Tons of flies! I'm really not sure where they all came from, can I tell you how much I hate flies, they are the most disgusting creatures. Luis and Luhanie were having a great time watching their crazy mom and dad with magazines rolled up in their hands chasing flies around the house and trying to squash them. For some reason they were really attracted to our white ceiling, which made it really easy to spot them. So dad got this hairbrained idea to take an empty gatorade bottle and try and see how many he could catch and bottle them up. He caught 3 of them. Jaidyn had a fit, she didn't want to see them die. She takes after her mom, (unfortunately), but this was a little different. I had no remorse feelings, no guilt and especially no 2nd thoughts about sending these flies to their demise. That was until I actually checked out the gatorade bottle and saw the little critters in there flopping around. It was as if they were saying "save me I promise I'll be good" I started to think like Jaidyn, "just let them go dad, open the door and let them go free". But then I started picturing all the dirty little places that they like to hang out, and suddenly came to my senses. Jaidyn however, never did change her mind and the next day, Sunday afternoon we were presented with this note as Jaidyn ran off to hide in a place that she thought would be safe from dad's wrath...
Translation:
To Dad and mom From Jaidyn: I'm sorry that I let the flies go that was in the G2 (gatorade) bottle. What I did was I took a blanket and I hid the bottle in it, and then I went in your room and opened the door and turned the lid and laid it out until morning. I just wanted to repent for doing it.
Dad and I had to laugh, at least she set them free outside. She really does have a kind heart!!
We finished off the day by mom making these pancakes for dinner.
