Okay, so John and I are laying in bed watching a Friday night movie and the bed starts majorly shaking and the light fixtures were swaying. It seemed to last only about 1 minute and as soon as it stopped Jaidyn, who was sleeping out in the Family room with Grandma came running in crying. She was soo scared (poor thing) She said "I thought I was going to die". After some consoling and trying to assure her that everything was going to be fine, she finally started to calm down. Our stupid dogs slept through the whole thing, they didn't even flinch. A few things fell off our shelves in the Family and Living Room and one of my favorite Willowtree statues broke. It's so weird I've been living in Nevada for over 30 years and I have never felt a quake like the one we had tonight. I guess it's time to start securing items on shelves and walls.

So we have been in our home now for about 4 years, it’s not a humongous house at 3000 sq. ft. but seeing how we moved from a home that was half this size, it’s larger than we are use to. John and I were talking the other day and realized that since we have bought our home we really haven’t had it to ourselves since we moved in. We have had various family members move in for extended periods of time for various reasons. The most recent, my dad moved in with us last July to start a new job here in our town, mom stayed behind to sell their home in Southern Nevada and then after 3 long months of being apart couldn’t take it much longer and left their home in the Realtor’s hands (who happened to be my aunt Lori). In February they did sell their home, which was short of a miracle in this kind of Real Estate market. Today I had the full intention of not getting on the computer this morning. The last couple of days I have been tied to the computer for one reason or another, but mostly trying to teach myself Photoshop. So I promised myself that I would check my email and that would be it for the day. So what happens? I check my email and there was a big headline story saying that there is a rice shortage. I am totally into the whole preparedness thing, so of course I had to open it and read it. It seems that we currently have a very large rice shortage here in the US and that even Costco, and Sam's Club have put a stop to selling rice in their stores. So this led me to google "food shortage" to find that we currently have a food shortage in wheat, corn and rice! Some people have even gone as far to say that wheat is currently worth more than money in some countries. So today I had to go to work in North Reno for my Pharmaceutical Auditing job. While conducting the inventory I was standing in the storage unit with the Sales Rep and the whole building began to shake. It scared the crap out of me!! I have heard on the news that we have been having earthquakes pretty much everyday here in Reno, but where we live we haven't felt any of them. The Sales Rep said "wow, that was the biggest one we've had yet". I am such a wusie. I started shaking and trying to maintain my composure I walked behind a box so that the Rep wouldn't see my legs, and hands shaking profusely. I don't know what happened, it was really weird, usually I don't get all freaked out like that. So Friday came and we decided that we needed a vacation. We have spent the last couple of weekends, cleaning out the garage, working on our backyard and painting inside the house. We wanted it to be a surprise for Jaidyn so we didn't tell her where we were going. We went online and got a great deal through AAA for Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, Ca. Well we did something that we swore we would never do!! We rented a minivan for our trip, we ended up nicknaming it the "Gigantic Pig" because of it's round porkiness and robust figure. So we are now officially "closet minivan drivers" My mom and dad went along for the trip with us, dad kept saying "you know you're going to want to buy one of these". I do have to say it was very convenient when we had to load and unload the kids and attending to their many needs during the trip. So here it is my first entry blog. I have to say I can see this becoming another addiction. I have come to the conclusion that I really do have many additions some of which I am proud of and some not so much. These would include the following: 1. Shopping to find the best bargain, I'm sure this comes from my Polish roots as I am obsessed with shopping the sale and clearance racks, hoping to find the best price. John has nicknamed me the "weasel" after I brought home a very nice all wood armoire/hutch with glass doors that I paid $25.00 for. 2. The office - I'm really not a avid television watcher however, there are a few things I really enjoy and "the Office" is one of them. 3. My bathtub - I am addicted to "Bella-V time" about 3 years ago I started a company called Bella V, using imported salts and aromatherapies. I have concocted many a bath formulas for relaxation.
