I'm beginning to think that Logandale doesn't like me. I woke up this morning with yet another of what felt like a kidney stone/bladder infection. Didn't this happen to me last time I was here? And funny it was on Sunday as well, of course when everything is closed. Anyway, I refused to have to go back to the Mesquite hospital again so I sucked it up and took a few pain pills. John and I decided to leave for Reno late this evening, so tomorrow I can go to the doctor in Reno if things still aren't going well. But before we left Jaidyn wanted to show mom how good of a driver she was. So we all piled into Grandpa's Rhino and headed for the hills. She did do a great job! She kept asking me "mom, so do you think I'll be able to get my license early?" Not a chance babe, but it would be nice to not have to be the mom taxi all the time. Today it started off overcast and pretty windy in Logandale, NV. I really don't like the wind much and when it's windy here it's horrible. Dirt flies everywhere and you're liable to be hit by some kind of flying bush/tumbleweed. The wind kicked up so bad that it broke some limbs off of grandma and grandpa's tree and they feared that it might break more off sending them into a vehicle or worst yet, Aunt Lori and Uncle Kevin's toy hauler. So the men all went outside trying to figure out a way to cut down the dead limbs of the tree. John decided that it would be a good idea to climb the half dead tree and start cutting limbs from the top of it. Luis and I had a great time standing off to the side taking pictures (of course) and running through the sprinklers. Then Luis spied grandpa's tractor, (all the boys love grandpa's tractor) so of course he had to climb up on it. Just look at the big cheesers he had for me. One Happy FARM BOY!!!

We took a trip to Vegas to see Uncle Scott in Las Vegas this morning. We woke up early and met him at blueberry Hill to have a little breakfast. Then we went SHOPPING! It was soooo hot at 117 degrees, it was completely unbearable. I still don't understand why they have outdoor shopping centers in Las Vegas with the weather being in the summertime well over 110 and the winters are always really windy, there's only a few months a year when you an actually stand to be outside shopping. So we decided to go to an indoor shopping mall the Fashion Show Mall, it brought back lots of good memories for John and I. I use to work at this mall and we often went on dates and then would walk around the Fashion Show mall. It's changed quite a bit since then just like everything in Vegas, it's gotten bigger, more glitzy and more expensive. But it's always fun to go back and visit again, it's especially fun to people watch there. It never fails that you'll see someon...

We decided to o to vegas for the weekend. This afternoon we spent our day getting packed and ready for our long 8 hour trip ahead. Jaidyn was put in charge of finding some movies to take along with us on our road trip. She couldn't find a CD case holder to put all of them in so she tried putting them in a baggie, but all mom had in the kitchen drawer was sandwich size baggies. Unfortunately the cd's just didn't fit. So what does she decide to do? She takes 2 baggies, cuts one in half and cuts the bottom of the other one and STAPLES them together! Viola, a baggie that holds all the CD's! What creativity!

So Luis has now found a way to climb the crib and get out. Our first thoughts were "oh, great! Now we'll never get sleep and neither will any of the kids". Every morning for the past week this is how it has been. At about 6:30 a.m., we hear little feet running down the hallway, then a cute little voice doesn't whisper but yells "mom" (in a tone that's like mom, I did it, I climbed out of my crib, here I am, bet you can't get me) then he runs off back down the hall to his room, which he shares with Luhanie and begins opening and slamming his door shut, until we were forced to get out of bed. By this time the entire household is up. So not really knowing what to do I came across a few ideas, maybe some of these will help those of you who are having the same problems as well. For the past week all we've been hearing about from Jaidyn is that "on Thursday we're having a surprise party!" We weren't really sure what she had planned but she had Grandma and Grandpa roped into helping her with all the preparations. A few days before she filled the dining room with all manner of decorations, including this sign "a little bit of partying should do the trick" I think Jaidyn was born a party girl, in Kindergarten she decided that she was going to have a party and invite all of her friends. She made invitations and although she was too little to remember our address, she did remember to put our home phone number. The day before the party I received 3 phone calls from the parents of the friends she invited asking for our address, if I needed any help etc..I was taken back a little as I had no idea that we were having a party, and then when I confronted Jaidyn about it, she said real matter of fact like "yeah, I decided to have a ...

Today is my BEST FRIENDS birthday! I have such an amazing husband! Almost 17 years ago we met in Las Vegas at Tower Records (of course) anyone who knows John, knows that he is a musical connoisseur, he likes pretty much any kind of music and has quite a compilation of them stored on his computer which he adds to constantly. (I love that about him). When we first met he was such an 80's boy, (just look at that picture!) I have to say that 17 years later, that 80's boy is still alive and well within him! (I try my best to tame it, but I love him still the same). John was born and raised in Southern California, and then moved to Boulder City, Nevada when he was a teen. He went to Boulder City High School and then when he graduated he went to work for his parents at their computer store, delivering computers. Some of those clients included inmates in a local prison. He also delivered to a local Civil Engineering firm who's owner eventually offered John a job at his compa...

Well as you can see our garden is growing VERY WELL! I thought I'd take some pictures and show you our latest harvests as well as how much it has grown. It has been so much fun, building, planting and watching our garden grow. It has been great for the kids as well, they love going out and picking things out of the garden, I've even been able to get them to eat most of it.

After staying up so late this morning, I was woke up like always by Jaidyn at about 3 am. She was so excited! J: Mom, mom! I can't believe it, the Tooth Fairy came last night! D: Really? J: Yep and look what she left me. She left me a dollar bill, but I don't know how much it is. D: Wow, a dollar bill, great! J: And I think I saw her, I woke up because I thought we were having an earthquake and my bed was moving, and I heard some bells. Maybe Santa was helping her,do you think? She was holding my tooth! Can you believe it! I am so happy! I finally co hearsed her into going back to bed, she weaseled her way in between dad and I and then fell right to sleep. Only to wake up at 7:30 this morning. Running into grandma's room to tell her the good news! Then she came into the kitchen and family room and looked around (her eye's got as big as quarters). Mom, I can't believe it! So I'm not sure what happened to me last night, or I should say really early this morning, but I had so much energy I didn't know what to do with it all, so I decided to clean. I ended up staying up until 2 in the morning cleaning and then after doing some laundry went out in the backyard and sat on our swing for awhile. It was so beautiful outside, and so very quiet. I could hear the crickets and the sky was so clear. John woke up and came out and joined me. I asked him what are you doing up?" He said "I woke up and my wifey wasn't there" He's as bad as Jaidyn. But I was glad that he came out for a little while. It was nice just sitting under the stars and not hearing "mommy" and all the other noises heard so much throughout the day. A night of quiet and relaxation, all because I decided to stay up and clean the house. It was worth it.
