OUR LITTLE JBIRD TAKES CENTER STAGE!!

I need to take this moment to brag a little!

Ever since Jaidyn was very, very little she has loved being on stage. When she was 3 years old we took her to the Logandale town trunk or treat. There was some karaoke'ing going on and even though was was still a lot of candy and trick or treating to be had, all Jaidyn wanted to do was to get up on stage. After some prodding I went up on stage to ask the DJ if this little 3 year old could perform some karaoke. You can imagine the look he gave me, the look of you're one of those mothers who thinks your kid can really sing, when in fact they can't carry a tune at all. I assured him that she really wanted to do it and my aunt who happened to be one of the coordinators came up and assured him as well. So he then introduced her on stage. She ran up there and to our surprise! she belted out a Hilary Duff song "I'm coming clean", word for word (she had it completely memorized). As she sang the crowd moved closer and closer to the stage cheering her on. There had to of been over 100 people there. It was amazing to see. Soon ater there was a circle of kids huddled around her dancing and singing with her. I think that was the beginning of her love for being on stage!

Since then Jaidyn has loved being up on stage and singing. In kindergarten she performed in the school talent show "it's magic" (theme from Harry Potter) and then last year performed again "big black horse and the cherry tree". SEE HERE

So this year we decided to get her in singing lessons, she has had one recital so far, SEE HERE and her teacher has been so impressed with her and especially her memory, she learns entire songs within a few minutes and has recorded a few in her teachers studio.

Speaking of her memory, did I mention that when she was 3 she memorized "the Princess and the Pea story" pretty much word for word. Grandma had bought her a carebear that read stories and this was one of the stories it read, so after hearing it 2 times she had most of the story memorized.

So last week she auditioned for a "real" musical show put on at the hotel/casino The Nugget. They will be having a Christmas musical Show in December, this is big time! She was so excited to audition, we arrived a little early and she kept asking me "mom is it my turn yet". I on the other hand was really nervous for her. During the auditions there was a panel of Judges. Within 30 minutes she was taught a dance that she had to memorize and perform, which she did with no problems at all. And then she had to sing a song of her choice, she chose "let it snow" and sung it solo, Acapella, she did such a great job! I was so proud of her. After the auditions she was sent on her way and has been waiting patiently for 3 days now (as patiently as a 7 year old can) to find out if she will be in the show or not. Well today we got the phone call at about 5:30 p.m., it was Karen Burns the producer of the show and they loved Jaidyn (of course), they want her to be in the show!!! Yeah!! She is so excited.

What a wonderful opportunity this will be for her. It's going to be a lot of hard work, she has rehearsals 3x a week and then there are 12 performances. But she will be working with professional dancers and singers in a very large production show, that ultimately will be on a showroom stage with a very large audience. Dad and I have already decided that we're not goign to miss any of her 12 shows, were not quite sure how it's all going to work out but we don't want to miss any of her performances. The experience that she'll gain from this will be so great, she has assured us that this is what she wants to do, but this will give her some insight to what it's really like to work hard, and perform on a real stage. I asked her the other day if she gets nervous when she has to get up on stage and sing or perform and she very confidently said "no" and then I said "do you like being on stage, is it fun for you". She said "yes and that's what I want to do, is be a singer". She's much more braver than I ever was.

Jaidyn, we are so proud of you and not just because what you've accomplished but also because of your sweet little spirit! You have a way of reminding us of the important things in life, you're our little angel. We can't wait to watch our little shining star!! We love you so very much, love mom and dad
