lucky me!

Well it served me right, today I woke up not feeling well at all. It was Jaidyn's 1st day back at school so I wasn't quite sure how I was going to work out all the logistics of getting her to school on time, taking care of Luis and Luhanie and going to the doctor. Thank goodness for Grandma. I am so thankful that they live here in Reno now for many reasons, but especially for times like this when we just need an extra hand. So Grandma came over and sat with the kids, and a friend of ours took Jaidyn to school, so Grandma wouldn't have to lug the kids around. John took me to Urgent Care they happened to be closed so we ended up going to a place called "Fastercare". When we walked in it seemed like a nice place and luckily there was no one in the waiting room. Great, we won't have to wait that long. Not exactly, I filled out all my paperwork and the standard info that they always ask for and then waited, and waited and waited, 20 minutes had gone by and an Office Manager comes up to the front desk receptionist and says "we need to talk!" She asked her if she was helping anyone and she said "no". Apparently, we were invisible, because the entire time none of them acknowledged us as an office argument went down. I guess a few days prior no one showed up to work the front desk. one of the girls up front said she called the office manager and left a message. The office manager then said "well my cell phone is not working, you should have called information to get my home number and then said I don't care if your son's having a birthday party, this job comes before anything, even your family!" Wow! John and I had to laugh, what a horrible place to work and how unprofessional it was to have an argument right there in front of the waiting area. I almost wanted to get up and leave but I had already paid my co-pay and just really wanted to get some relief from the pain I was having. So finally after the argument, they called my name and took me to the back. The nurse (I think she was a nurse) attempted to try and take my blood pressure. I seriously think she was brand new at this, she kept fiddling with it and acted really nervous, like she wasn't sure what to do. By this point I'm getting nervous myself. Finally the doctor comes in she was very young as well, she diagnosed me with a bladder infection and said she was going to give me antibiotics, but if the pain started going up my back, chills and fevers I needed to go to the hospital, because that means it's in your kidneys and it can cause many problems. Hello! I was having very bad pains in my back, hence the coming to Urgent care when I did. She then said well then the antibiotics should help. So I'm confused, should I go to the hospital or not? So she sent us on our way with an antibiotic prescription. John and I both left and said to each other that was the last time we're ever going there. What a CRAZY place!

I finally got home about 10 a.m., mom decided to spend the rest of the day with me to help out with the kids while I rested. It was so nice to have her around, I started to feel bad though because I know she had lots to do as well. She went and picked up Jaidyn from school and then went to Trader Joes to buy me some watermelon juice (apparently this is really good for you when you have a bladder/kidney problems). Jaidyn called me on the phone so excited and said "mom, guess what? I lost another tooth!" So that makes a total of 3 now, I'll post some pictures later.

John got home from work and immediately started helping, he fed the kids, changed diapers, got them ready for bed and took care of me. What a lucky girl I am to have a husband who helps so much and my mom who helps me constantly. I have such a wonderful family who helps me out so much, so when mom's sick everything stays on schedule and there's not extra catch up to do when things get back to normal.

That Fastcare sounds like a crazy place! I'll make sure to avoid that one in the future. I am jealous that I don't have my mom close by, that is such a nice thing for you.
