s One of the things we love to do as a family is explore. Some of our favorite trips have been those that haven't been planned out, instead just driving to some unknown destination in search of fun things to do and see. In the past we have have found some favorite spots during these trips. One particular trip we made (before Jaidyn was born) was in search of redwoods. We packed up one Friday night after work, we made a quick stop at the grocery store for some goodies and began to drive to Northern California with only $35.00. (a bit crazy, but we were young), on the way there we ended up with a flat tire that cost us $11.00 to fix, but that didn't stop us we continued on our path with the remaining $24.00 in our wallets. At about 2 a.m. we arrived in Elk's Grove that eventually led us to our now MOST FAVORITE campsite Patrick's Point. I've made a few aprons lately and thought I'd show you just one, this one I made for my 2nd Counselor for her birthday. They are so fun to make, I think I have an apron obsession!

We're still doing so yard clean up, it seems like it's been taking us forever this year! Part of the problem was that winter seemed to come so fast last year that we weren't able to winterize before the snow came so it has added a lot more work this year. But all things considered we are still getting quite a crop this year!

Last October we put this bead board on our center kitchen island and it sat there for 7 months unfinished, because I couldn't decide on what I wanted to do with it. So due to being unable to start on our garage project, because were still waiting to get our building permits and supplies, we decided to take a trip to Home Depot and there it was in a magazine the colors for the island. So mom helped me and we stained the entire island a mahogany. Then painted over that with a green paint. Then the fun came! we sanded, hammered, nicked and scuffed up the nicely painted beadboard and then dry brushed it with some more stain. I think it turned out PERFECT! I love how aged and old it looks, and the best part when the kids kick, hit and run into it, it's just going to make it more beautiful!

For the past 3 months, every morning at 7:30 am we are visited by this little guy! He hops over to the trampoline (where all the clover grows) and enjoys his morning breakfast. Our dogs have his schedule down and at 7:15 am they patiently wait at the bedroom french doors for Mr. Bunny to come into view. As soon as he does they go ballistic barking and jumping on the window, but Mr. Bunny doesn't seem to care, he knows that they're all bark and no bite and I think he finds great pleasure in the whole thing. After some time enjoying his clover breakfast he hops off to the far right side of our yard where the flowers are growing and slips under the fence to antagonize the neighbors cats, which once again are unable to get to him. Apparently our Clover has done him well, he's grown quite a bit over the past 3 months.
