Thank you so much for all your prayers. Just wanted to let you all know that our prayers were answered! The Judge awarded custody to the County, so Lana will be staying with us for awhile. I can't thank you all enough for the many thoughts and prayers sent our way. I so many phone calls today as well. I feel so blessed to have such good friends who give myself and my family so much love and support. It has been one stressful day and I'm pretty wiped, so I think I'll get a good book, take a hot bath, relax and sleep much better tonight knowing that Lana is safe in our home. Thanks again for all your love and prayers.

We received some bad news today that tomorrow Social Services goes to court to state the case for Lana. Our Social Worker informed us that there is a very large possibility that the Judge will not place Lana in protective custody with the county, (to stay with us) because the parent's drug tests came back negative. We're not sure how this happened, as Lana was born drug positive and she has been going through withdrawals but nevertheless they did come back negative. With this in mind it's pretty hard for Social Services to state a case of protective custody. This is the hardest part of being a Foster Parent, I fear for this little one's return to her parents, she is currently on medication that needs to be given to her consistently 3x a day, if she does not receive her medication she could suffer with seizures, and possibly death. I am so very worried for her and the possibility of being placed in her parents care. The other really "big" problem to this wh...

Today we were told that we could go pick up our new little addition. Meet Lana (pronounced Laina) she was born the day after my birthday on November 12th weighing 7 pounds 6 oz and is the full sibling to Luis and Luhani. I can't believe the resemblance of Lana to Luis. But she does have some traits of Luhani as well. We arrived at the hospital (my mom, me and the kids) at 9 a.m. as we were told to do. Upon arriving my mom and the kids waited in the NICU waiting area while I went in to see the baby. The NICU nurse walked me in and asked me to scrub up. I did and as I did I glanced over to where the baby was and there sat mom "Lana's mom". I was a bit shocked and I wasn't sure what was going on at this point. The Nurse said "oh my gosh come here quickly", we walked out to the hallway and tried to decide on what to do. The nurse...

So today was actually an okay day! We went to the chapel to renew our temple recommends. I can't wait to have a temple day again. Last year John and I use to go on a weekly basis and it was so great to be able to go so often. Things have changed quite a bit in our house and going weekly just isn't possible but we're shooting for being able to go at least on a monthly basis. We feel so blessed to have a temple so close, we use to have to drive 3 hours to the nearest temple. We have done quite a bit of genealogy and it's been really nice to be able to do the work for our family. I love going to the temple and I'm thankful for the gospel and the knowledge that families can be together forever.

So Tuesday comes along and it started just like a normal day. I began by cleaning the house and getting ready for our Enrichment night that was going to be at our home. We were having a "Soup & Dessert Exchange Night". Jaidyn came home from school and then I dropped her off at her singing lessons for a 1/2 hour. I picked up my mom and we went to run a few errands. On the way back to pick up Jaidyn, I was driving on the freeway and my car completely dies. The gas gauge was going crazy and I figured it had probably ran out of gas. I think this must be a Chevy thing but when the gas gets low instead of it showing empty it goes all the way up to full and then back down to low, so we try and keep the tank full at all times just to be safe. Anyway, I managed to coast the Suburban down the nearest off ramp and to the side of the road where we sat. I called AAA and of course it was going to take them about 20 minutes to send someone out. What a CRAZY week! (to say the least) . It all started on Monday. I spent most of the day cleaning and organizing the house (again), while on this wonderful (sarcasm) journey I came across the old kitchen set that Jaidyn received for Christmas about 2 years ago and hasn't really played with since. Luis and Luhani are both too young so I thought it was a great idea to possibly place this item on craigslist along with the plethora of play food, cups, pans and utensils. Jaidyn came home from school and when she found out the plan, there was a complete melt down . Just a little something about our sweet JBird. Jaidyn has a horrible time letting go of things. She's very sentimental, everything has a story, (I'm so frightened to think of what this might lead to in her adult life) and of course the kitchen has it's own story as well. I have such a wonderful husband! I feel so lucky to be married to such a romantic, caring and handsome better half. My birthday was on the 11th and this is what he posted. What a great Birthday present ! Thank you for all you do for me and our little family. I love you so much!

It's taken me some time to write this post, but I wanted to share with you some of my memories of one of my most special family member Rodger Decker Waters. So things have been just a little crazy at the MacDonald Farm. It all started about a month ago. Just like most families the kids have been keeping us busy with all manner of activities. Then my calling was keeping me busy with what seemed like a flurry of health and sickness issues in our family ward. Then I received a call from my family that after a fairly long battle with Alzheimer's my sweet little Uncle Rodger had slipped into a coma and wasn't doing well at all. We knew that the time was coming soon and then needed to start preparing for another trip down to Las Vegas. Rodger stayed in the coma for 2 days and then peacefully slipped away on October 10th, one week after his 55th birthday. We packed up our car & the kids and drove to Las Vegas to be with our family. That Saturday was his funeral. Words c...
