Awhile back while doing some genealogy we found out that we are related to Audrey Hepburn. Jaidyn is loving this, she just can't seem to get enough of her. She has always loved old movies and tv shows (she's my little girl that was born in the wrong century). Some of her favorites, Little House on the Prairie, anything with Shirley Temple, Old Western movies (especially if she gets to watch them with Grandpa Waters), and of course Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. I love that she's such a well rounded girl, she loves old music from the 60's, 70's and 80's but also knows all the words to the latest Foo Fighters. She amazes me! She woke up for School on Tuesday and was dreaming about her new room decor. She wants to do an old Hollywood movie theme, including of course b&w pictures of Audrey Hepburn. About a year ago I was diagnosed with Hoshimoto's, which basically means hypothyroid. I have had a hard time getting this under control and to where I feel better. I've gone to a muriad of doctors and been on a few different kinds of medications. I've decided that THIS is the year. I'm way too young to be so tired and feeling the way that I do. I found a specialist near San Francisco California that I'm going to see in February but until then I've decided to try Chinese medicine and acupuncture. I had my first appointment yesterday. I felt so good after even my 1st visit. I returned again this morning and once again, I feel much better! Tomorrow I'll return again and then we'll see where it goes from here. I figure at this point I can't go wrong, I'm my own guinea pig right now, trying out different things to see what will work best for me. I'm hoping I'm on the right track. I had to post these! Yesterday I happened to come across a tv show that was making fun of Martha Stewart and some of the funny guests and crafts she often has on her shows. So she had this guest on that called herself "The Corn Lady" apparently she grew up on a farm and for lack of anything better to do she crafted some jewelry for herself out of corn, well this led to a friend wanting some, and then another friend and another. So now she has this little business where she sells corn jewelry and corn items fashioned out of corn! The items are not cheap, a simple corn necklace is $60.00 (I could see if it was made out of stones or even beads, but corn?) So this sent me out on a quest to find other things out there that people are making and selling from recycled or odd items. Some of them amaze me as to how they even are able to sell them. I don't know what it is about birds, but I just can't seem to get enough of them. Hence my new background! Not necessarily actual birds, but bird themed designs and decor. I think it might have all started during Christmas. I decided to do a chocolate brown and blue tree and decorated it with nothing other than birds, I have to say that this is probably one of my most favorites so far. So here are some things I have found and fell in love with, all to do with birds. I love this! I think I might have to try my hand at making one of these for Jaidyn. I can never get enough of silver jewelry, and these are so darn cute! Even Pottery Barn has the bug for birds...Got to Love Pottery Barn. So I'm not one that gets involved politically, I tend to keep my opinions to myself. But I can't help but notice all the hoopla that has encircled this President elect and how public this inauguration is. I don't remember the past inaugurations being so publicized and so many well known people becoming so involved, and not only being so involved, but being so passionate about it at the same time. So tomorrow is the big day, the inauguration, the day for our new President. I find myself (like years in the past) with nervousness and anxiety and thinking about what our future might hold. Here are a few of my thoughts: I hope that those who feel that Obama is the answer to change for the better turn out to be right. I hope that God remains an integral part of our country. I hope that my children can continue to have the freedoms that we have enjoyed. I hope that we can remember that we are all children of God regardless of our race, background or religion. and I hope that ...

So here I sit at 2 a.m. in the morning. I've been sick all day with the stinkin' stomach flu and I can't seem to go to sleep. So while my tummy rumbles and grumbles and I gulp down pepto, I figured I'd take this time to post some updates. I've been wanting to post sooner but just before Christmas my computer decided to quit working, so John and I have resorted to sharing his laptop. Other than not being able to post as much as I'd like it's actually been really nice, I was finding myself consumed for hours on my laptop and now since I don't have one of my own I'm amazed at how much extra time I have found.
