What a GREAT day! We started off going to our last certification class for the renewal of our Fostercare license. It's hard to believe that we've been doing Fostercare for over a year now! We weren't really looking forward to the class too much as the subject was "How to save the discouraged Foster family". We figured it would be a lot of remember the reasons your doing this, don't let the system discourage you blah blah blah, but then we found out that Betty Hastings was teaching it. She was the guest speaker yesterday. A cute little white haired lady in her 70's who has been doing Fostercare for over 35 years now! (amazing) She had quite the stories to share yesterday and her sense of humor really kept our attention. So we were exited to hear from her again today, especially after yesterday's class that we took. We really were discouraged as we walked away from class feeling like Fostercare parents don't really matter, we have no rights and we have no opinions that make a difference. It was really discouraging. So we got to class, it was 3 hours long and full of information we walked away feeling renewed and reassured not only for the reasons why we have done Fostercare but also really wanting to continue.

After class we went straight to Jaidyn's recital. She has been taking voice lessons for about 3 weeks now and her teacher really wanted her to participate in the recital. I have to say most of the recital was pretty horrifying and ear deafening. There were 3 that were really good and of course one of those was OUR DAUGHTER! Jaidyn rocked! She stole the entire show, singing "He's got the whole world in his hands" and playing the tambourine at the same time. She did such a good job!
Here is a video of her performance.

We love you JBird!!

Hi Danila,
I saw your blog link on Rachel Hamricks blog, so I thought I'd say hello.
Jaidyn is so grown up...I remember when she was just a baby! Time flies!
Glad to hear you're doing great. I wish you the best with your foster children, I hope all works out, they are cuties!
We're enjoying Seattle, except wish we had the Reno sunshine!
