I think I better go to the Hospital!

I woke up this morning feeling not so well. Luis and Luhanie had a night full of chatter. We stayed up late visiting with our family and then when we went to bed Luis and Luhanie deciding that it was their time to talk, so for the next 3 hours we were trying to not loose our patience as we tried to go to sleep. (they slept in 2 separate play pens in our room). Finally at about 3:30 a.m., they went to sleep and we conked out.

I woke up with this massive pain on my right side, thinking that it was probably just not enough rest and sleeping wrong, I wrote it off and we went to church. During church I was feeling fine, it was when we got back home that things went down hill very fast. I finally went in and told John that I thought he better take me to the hospital. So we packed up the kids and drove what seemed like forever to Mesquite some 25 miles away. I was in so much pain that I seriously felt like I was going to die. Jaidyn was pretty scared and kept asking if I was going to be okay, (poor thing), I felt so bad and tried to maintain my composure the best I could. We finally arrived at the Emergency room and there I waited, and waited and waited, and waited. All I could do was pace back and forth down the halls, and then that didn't even help after awhile. Finally John went up and told the receptionist that I really needed a doctor. They took me back and immediately put in an IV, the pain was pretty severe and so they gave me Morphine. (that was the weirdest thing, I have never had morphine before and I felt it literally go up to my head with warmth and then slowly fill my whole body down to my toes), immediate relief came! I felt so much better. So much in fact, I told John "man, we really need to get one of these gurneys, they're comfortable". Reassuring me that it was just the medication making it so soft and comfy he said "honey, your on drugs, it's the morphine that's making you feel so comfortable". Maybe that was true, but I hadn't felt that relaxed in I don't know how long. I jokingly said to John "my R and R's are pretty expensive huh?" I have to say I can't remember the last time that I heard so much quiet and felt so relaxed. So anyway, they took me back and did a CT SCAN, what they found was kidney stone! Yikes, these seem to run in my family (aren't we lucky?) I have had one of these before about 15 years ago, but it had been so long that I forgot what they felt like and they're not fun at all.

So what they also found is that I have a bladder and kidney infection, the doctor seemed more worried about the kidney infection than anything, and so pain meds and antibiotics were prescribed.

We headed back home and I felt relieved in a sense that there was something wrong and it wasn't something like a gas bubble or something stupid like that. I was so glad to finally get home, Sundays are always the days that we gather at Grandma's and Grandpa's to visit, so I knew that the family would be there and I'd be missing out, if I didn't get out of the hospital soon. After 4 hours I finally did get out and spent most of the day just resting and trying to recover from our very eventful morning/afternoon.

Well, I know EXACTLY what you went through. I had a kidney stone too. Worst pain I have ever felt. I would take labor pain over kidney stone pain. Hope you are doing better.
