Jaidyn's 1st day of 3rd Grade

I can't believe it, the time is just flying by..J

aidyn is in 3rd grade now. Our little girl is growing up so fast! She has been so excited all weekend for her first day. Her teacher Mr. Clark (first male teacher she's had) wrote her a letter, introducing himself and welcoming her to his class, that was a big bonus point for Jaidyn, anybody who writes her letters scores big with her. So needless to say she was immediately in LOVE with her new teacher and excited to meet him. She woke up at 7 a.m. (on her own) jumped out of bed, and was completely dressed by 7:30 a.m. She kept telling me that we needed to go and then I reminded her that we had to wait for Luis' bus to come first.

I woke Luis up got him dressed and they both ate breakfast together. Jaidyn was being so cute with him this morning, being such a good big sister. She was talking to him about school and what to expect there, reminding him that she was at the same school with him and that he was going to have so much fun. She even took the liberty to fix his hair and clothing. She said it was fun having Luis go to her school and fun to have someone get ready for school with her. They kept hugging and kissing each other all morning.

Luis bus was 20 minutes late, we hopped in the car and rushed to school. I walked Jaidyn to her class. On the way there one of her friends from 1st grade D'Angelo came up to her and asked if she was on green track. Jaidyn said "no" and then I reminded her that we had switched to green this year. D'angelo excitedly said "yes!" then he asked her if she was in Mr. Clark's class and he said "yes" He was excited to have her in his class. Jaidyn also ended up in class with Alisa & Cassidy two friends from 1st grade.

After school I went to pick Jaidyn up, she was walking with her head hung down and a very sad look on her face. I asked her "how was school?" She said "mom, I don't like my teacher." Oh, no, I thought not another year of fighting with the school to have Jaidyn moved to a different class. I asked her why and she said that he was really strict. I didn't tell Jaidyn but I had talked to a few moms before school started and had heard quite a bit of negativity regarding this teacher, but remember what last year was like with Mrs. Cervantes (lots of negative remarks, but Jaidyn grew to love her and now says it was her favorite teacher, she even cried on her last day of 2nd grade). I thought I would wait it out and see how things went. So I'm not sure how this is going to go, I think tomorrow I'll tell Jaidyn to try and do her best to like him and then we'll see how it goes, if it doesn't go well, back to the Principal's office dad and I will go and see if we can change her to the other class. Darn it! I'm beginning to think the school has it out for the MacDonald's.
