FIRST DAY OF PRE-K FOR LUIS!
Today was Luis first day at Pre-K. He's been pretty excited about it and a little apprehensive at the same time. He has his own bus that comes and picks him up right at our front door. I woke him up earlier than usual to get a early start, he got dressed, had breakfast and then we went out front and waited for the bus, and waited, and waited and waited! The bus was 20 min. late. Worried that we were going to make Jaidyn late as well, we all piled into the Suburban, grandma had come by on her way from a walk to help out. Right as we loaded up everyone into the truck, the bus came around the corner. Poor Luis was so confused and scared, I felt horrible. He was excited about school but a bus was something he had never really been on before. I walked him up the steps as the bus driver helped him into his seat. The sad little face he gave me as he stood there next to the bus driver was heart wrenching.
I was so worried about him that I drove to his classroom to check on him and there I found him sitting in a circle with his classmates playing instruments. He was having so much.
I don't know what's harder, a child experiencing their first day at school or a mother letting go. He came home that afternoon so happy, and told us all about his big day at school . He felt like such a big boy. The minute he got off the bus he wanted to see Luhani, they are so inseperable. They greeted each other with a hug and were so happy to be together again.
