Just some thoughts on our new President
So I'm not one that gets involved politically, I tend to keep my opinions to myself. But I can't help but notice all the hoopla that has encircled this President elect and how public this inauguration is. I don't remember the past inaugurations being so publicized and so many well known people becoming so involved, and not only being so involved, but being so passionate about it at the same time. So tomorrow is the big day, the inauguration, the day for our new President. I find myself (like years in the past) with nervousness and anxiety and thinking about what our future might hold. Here are a few of my thoughts:
I hope that those who feel that Obama is the answer to change for the better turn out to be right.
I hope that God remains an integral part of our country.
I hope that my children can continue to have the freedoms that we have enjoyed.
I hope that we can remember that we are all children of God regardless of our race, background or religion.
and I hope that we can regain the trust and security that we once felt within our nation.
One thing that I have been very impressed with is the fact that many are taking this as an opportunity to give of service, realizing that the only way we can change things is by changing them ourselves. I know that through service it is the only way for us to love others and be more Christlike. I know that there are more than likely going to be hard times ahead, but the hope that there are a few people out there who are willing to change and give of service does gives me hope for a better future.
