Jaidyn Hepburn

Awhile back while doing some genealogy we found out that we are related to Audrey Hepburn. Jaidyn is loving this, she just can't seem to get enough of her. She has always loved old movies and tv shows (she's my little girl that was born in the wrong century). Some of her favorites, Little House on the Prairie, anything with Shirley Temple, Old Western movies (especially if she gets to watch them with Grandpa Waters), and of course Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. I love that she's such a well rounded girl, she loves old music from the 60's, 70's and 80's but also knows all the words to the latest Foo Fighters. She amazes me! She woke up for School on Tuesday and was dreaming about her new room decor. She wants to do an old Hollywood movie theme, including of course b&w pictures of Audrey Hepburn. So we were discussing color schemes and decorating ideas and then it was time to get ready for school. "hey mom! I've got an idea! Since Audrey Hepburn is my grandma (she's really not her grandmother, more like 7th cousin) let's do my hair like hers and see if I look like her." So this is what she wore to school and this is what we came up with for the hair.

Oh, that's adorable! I'm jealous that she loves the classics so much. My kids aren't really taking to the brainwashing I've attempted so far :( Yay for Jaidyn Hepburn!

I really see the resemblance! She is a pretty amazing girl, she blows my mind with her voice. She always kicks my butt at Rock Star (and pretty much everybody elses too! hehe).

OUR LITTLE JBIRD TAKES CENTER STAGE!!

I need to take this moment to brag a little! Ever since Jaidyn was very, very little she has loved being on stage. When she was 3 years old we took her to the Logandale town trunk or treat. There was some karaoke'ing going on and even though was was still a lot of candy and trick or treating to be had, all Jaidyn wanted to do was to get up on stage. After some prodding I went up on stage to ask the DJ if this little 3 year old could perform some karaoke. You can imagine the look he gave me, the look of you're one of those mothers who thinks your kid can really sing, when in fact they can't carry a tune at all. I assured him that she really wanted to do it and my aunt who happened to be one of the coordinators came up and assured him as well. So he then introduced her on stage. Help I need a makeover!!

I can't believe I forgot to blog this! Last night at the Billy Idol concert there was a little girl there named Ryland that was the same age as Jaidyn and she kept coming up and talking to her. The family that she was with was apparently her grandmother and grandfather. They brought her to our table and the man (her grandfather) that was with her said "are you the grandmother?" I couldn't believe it! Grandmother! Really? I was offended, but John was even more offended, when he left he said "I can't believe he asked you if you are the grandmother, I was offended for you." I've never seen him so upset. The people sitting next to us said "you don't look like a grandmother at all, I think he had a little too much to drink." I sure hope so, not that I would want him to be that drunk to mistake me for 20 years older than I am, but I'm pretty sure I don't look like a grandmother! Do I? Yikes, maybe I need to use more Arbonne...
