Monday's Fiasco, the start of a hectic week!!

What a CRAZY week! (to say the least). It all started on Monday. I spent most of the day cleaning and organizing the house (again), while on this wonderful (sarcasm) journey I came across the old kitchen set that Jaidyn received for Christmas about 2 years ago and hasn't really played with since. Luis and Luhani are both too young so I thought it was a great idea to possibly place this item on craigslist along with the plethora of play food, cups, pans and utensils. Jaidyn came home from school and when she found out the plan, there was a complete melt down. Just a little something about our sweet JBird. Jaidyn has a horrible time letting go of things. She's very sentimental, everything has a story, (I'm so frightened to think of what this might lead to in her adult life) and of course the kitchen has it's own story as well. She proceeded to tell me "Santa brought this to me when I was 3 years old, and the elves worked really hard to make it special for me. Santa would be very upset and may not bring me anything this year if I just get rid of it." (Pretty good huh, I swear she's going to be a lawyer one day!) I said "you haven't been playing with it since you got it" She said "well it's because I didn't know where it was".

Now I have to tell you this is no small kitchen set, it's about 3' tall and 5' long, as well as being very large it is also very LOUD, it makes all kinds of various beeping, buzzing and musical noises. So how she could have missed this for the past 3 years, is beyond me.

She asked me if she could keep it in her room and then if she didn't play with it then we could sell it. "Only if you clear a spot for it" I said the spot that seemed like the best place for it happened to be where 3 laundry baskets full of clothes have sat for the past 2 months. Jaidyn has a habit of pulling clothes off the hanger and then tossing them in the corner, so this pile has ended up being quite LARGE. I suggested to her that if she wanted the kitchen in her room, then she needed to fold, hang and put away this very LARGE pile of clothing that she had accumulated. This lead to another meltdown. "But mom, I need your help, I can't do this all by myself, I'm only 7" Then whining and wailing she came back in and said "I don't have enough hangers." I was so fed up, she had pushed my buttons way too long so I said "fine, I'll give you some hangers". I then proceeded to go into her room and clear out her closet. She had so many clothes that are too little that I have needed to go through, so I figured this solved two problems. Like I said earlier she doesn't like to get rid of things and ever shirt, skirt, pair of shoes, pants, jackets etc..had a story or memory, so she ran to the phone to call who else but "Grandma". Crying hysterically she tells grandma "mom's throwing all my clothes away and my toys, I don't have anything left" However she was crying so hard that Grandma couldn't understand a word she was saying and all she heard was "Grandma, (crying frantically) mom" So Grandma hopped in her car and headed for our house, hoping that everything was okay. Before Grandma got there Jaidyn proceeded to say "your the worst mom ever, and I'm going to run away and you'll never see me again" I said "okay, see you later". She ran down the hallway only to return 2 minutes later crying and saying "but I can't leave because you're my mom". A few minutes later she said "I promise I'm going to run away and you'll never see me again" I said "okay, see you later." She ran down the hall once more returning a few minutes later, crying "but I can't runaway it's too dark outside." Then she left the room and returned back and said "I did the only thing that I could do, I said a prayer that Grandma would come and stop you" (crying franticly) Just then the garage door opened and who should it be "GRANDMA!!" "It's amazing how little one's prayers are answered so quickly" I thought. Grandma came in, in a panic because by this time Jaidyn was really crying and couldn't catch her breath. "Grandma said where's your mom?" Thinking that something had happened to me or something terrible happened. She said "she's in my room and she's throwing away all my clothes and toys." Grandma came into Jaidyn's room relieved that everything was okay. After some talking to she finally calmed down, dad came home and we all had a talk with her. She then cleaned her room and said "you know mom, I'm glad that we're going to be giving my clothes to other kids who really need them and that we're going to sell my kitchen because I know it's going to be really expensive to have my cavities filled at the dentist next month."All of this DRAMA for nothing! What an exhausting day!

Reagan (our little drama queen) would LOVE some of those hand-me-downs! She is terribly picky for a 4 yr old, I am so scared of what she will be like at 7!!
