I feel like a Jellybean being eaten!!!
Today started out just like normal, wake up at 7:30 get dressed, try to drag Jaidyn out of bed, check 10 minutes later and try to drag Jaidyn out of bed, check 5 minutes later and decided to assist Jaidyn with getting out of bed by puppet walking her to the bathroom (that would be by standing behind her, her feet on top of mine, my arms around her chest and together as I walk, she walks). (I know it's pretty ridiculous). We picked up the Riley's kids for school and dropped everyone off just in time for the 1st bell to ring.
At 10 a.m. Luis and Luhanie had their visit, it was really odd to see how their mom was reacting, after Thursday's court date. The real weird thing to me is that she wasn't acting any way at all, it was like nothing ever happened at court. (Did the Judge really authorize termination of parental rights?) I know that if that was me, I would not only be upset, crying etc.., but I definitely would not shorten my visit, seeing how they were going to be stopping altogether very soon. That is exactly what she did. She asked to have an hour visit instead of a two hour visit because she apparently had a doctor's visit at the Pregnancy Center (yes, she's pregnant again) at 11:40. First off it doesn't take 40 minutes to drive 2 miles down the road, the second thing is after we picked up the kids at 11:15, we drove by the Pregnancy Center just to see if she was actually there and guess what? Yep, she wasn't there. Hum, so I wonder what she was doing? Oh, and by the way dad didn't bother to show up at all to the visit today, apparently he had some kind of swelling problem (swollen neck & chin) and had to go to the hospital, (hm..wonder if this was a lie as well). What a sad life when you have to lie, just so that you can miss or end a visit sooner with your own children.
So after the visit, I went by to see my friends The Savant's one last time before they moved to Elko. I'm really going to miss them!
I came home and made a my favorite, Watermelon Salad (it's so yummy) with Quesadillas. Jaidyn complained (as always) that she didn't want to eat the Quesadillas, so I said "okay, then you can eat the salad" She said okay and then 1 hour later dad and I were still trying to get her to finish her dinner. We made our threats like,"if you don't eat you're going to bed", "if you don't eat you're not having dessert" and we heard the regular excuses "but there's too much food", "but it's sour, I don't like lettuce" etc..after arguing with her I decided to set the timer on the oven (you know mom means business when she sets the timer!), I gave her 5 minutes to eat everything on her plate or she was going to bed. She began eating, complaining, eating and some more complaining (I threatened to get dad, another thing that tells you mom means business). She then presented me with a very clean plate. Wow, Jaidyn that's great, she said "can I have some dessert now" I said "sure, you want ice cream?" "yeah". So she ate her ice cream, meanwhile, I began cleaning the kitchen. Sweeping under the table ugh..what..there was lettuce, watermelon, cheese, all of the ingredients to my salad underneath what do you think? yep, Jaidyn's chair. She hadn't eaten at all she had scooped it up and put it under her chair!!! Needless to say I lost it!! I told her she was grounded and she freaked out! She said "you're the worst parents ever!" "you make me feel like a jellybean that's being eaten!" (what? that was completely random, John and I turn our heads so we could laugh without her seeing). She ran to her room screaming and yelling (7 year old temper tantrum), I being the mean mom that I am pulled out my camera of course, and she asked what I was doing, I said "I'm going to video tape how your acting so you can remember it and then I'll put it on my blog so everyone can see it! (I am so mean) it worked though (got to love technology) I didn't actually video tape it, although now I'm wishing that I did (just for future use, if needs be). Anyway a few seconds later we hear "mommy, mommy, I want my mommy" (got to love that!) She came running to me with a big hug and we made up. (we're friends now) We had a big talk about lying and how that makes Jesus feel etc.. this is what she told me "but mom, I can't help it, I think I have a problem, I just lie a lot lately" I said "well you need to say a prayer and tell him you're sorry, and try harder to change what you know you did wrong". She said her prayer and finally went off to sleep. I have to admit, I remember being just like her when I was her age, I don't ever recall feeling like a Jellybean that's being eaten though. Oh, the Drama of raising a 7 year old girl!
