Day 1 and 2 Hollywood, La Jolla and Sea World

Day 1 - Tuesday 4/28

What a great trip we had!

Tuesday we spent most of the day on traveling between airports and with a few interruptions, including John's almost arrest (see previous post) we managed to make it to Hollywood by 5 p.m. just in time for the X-Men Premier (what great timing) we were able to meet Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Daniel Henney. Here is a media picture of Lynn Collins and you can actually see Jaidyn on John's shoulders in the background.

This is a very large sign on a building that was located near the Chinese Theater, I thought it was interesting to see something like this right smack dab in the middle of all the commercial and famous buildings. I guess we're not the only one's preparing.

It says" Where is your family? Make an emergency plan at Ready.gov"

After all the fun we decided to head to our hotel in La Jolla. We stayed at the Hyatt La Jolla and it was sooo nice, I highly recommend it. Here was the view from our hotel room.

Day 2 -Wednesday 4/29

We woke up this morning and started our drive to Sea World. We kept it a secret from Jaidyn. Yesterday Jaidyn overhead me saying to John something about SeaWorld and Jaidyn said "we're going to SeaWorld?" I said "no, the sea, we're going to the beach tomorrow." So said "oh, fun can we build a sand castle?" Then this morning we were on our way and as we drove past SeaWorld, Jaidyn looked over at the tower and said "man, that place looks really dirty, what is that place?" I said "I don't know it's probably a water treatment plant or something". Then as we got closer she said "no, that's SeaWorld, because I remember that building, and I remember that, I remember that, I remember that..(as she points out each building and the parking lot). She said "man I really wish we could go to SeaWorld, I love that place!" We parked the car and she was still under the impression that we were going to the beach, she loaded up her bag to gather sea shells and a few other beach items, then as we walked closer to the gates she finally realized we were going to SeaWorld! As we entered through the gates, she said "mom, you've really got to get better at this game. I've got you figured out."

We headed towards Shamu first and grabbed a seat in the Soak Zone, luckily we didn't get wet at all. We unexpectantly met up with the Farr's. (they decided to take a break for Disneyland for the day)

We stayed at SeaWorld until closing and then drove to the beach, La Jolla where John use to hang out when he was little. What a beautiful beach. There were tons of tide pools with sea urchins, crabs and fish in them. Jaidyn had fun gathering sea shells and playing on the beach. Off the pier the was an entire beach full of sea lions, it stunk pretty bad but they were so cute and fun to watch. Jaidyn asked if we could have one as a pet one day.

After the beach we went to Target to get Jaidyn some undies (she forgot to pack them) and then we drove back to our hotel for a good night's rest.

Here are a few pictures from our day at Sea World and La Jolla Beach.

Ha! Blaming Jaidyn for forgetting her underwear - I like it :)

How funny that you saw the Farrs at Sea World!

I love the pic with Jaidyn on John's shoulder across the street from the premier.
